Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival at Kathmandu
After your flight has been landed, one of our representatives will be there for your welcome and you will be shifted to the hotel. You can take some rest at your hotel, and in the evening we will discuss the trek. Overnight at the Kathmandu hotel.
Day 2: Drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara(914m)
Time required: 6 hours
We depart from the Kathmandu, and it takes about the six hours drive to reach the Pokhara. Following the Trisuli and Marsyangdi river, you can witness the massive terraced fields and small hill towns to the Seti river taking you directly to the Pokhara. Observe the views of the north across the hills and Phewa Tal to the white peaks of Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges.
Day 3: Pokhara(914m) to Jomsom(2700m)
Time required: 50 minutes (flights), 3 hours (trek)
We will fly from Pokhara to Jomsom, which will take around the 25 minutes. We will trek from Jomsom to Kagbeni. We will get the small aircraft flight and getting the close-up view of Annapurna range, Dhaulagiri and nearby satellites. We will Complete the paperwork formalities to enter the long-forbidden region of Nepal.
Day4: Kagbeni(2804m) to Chuksang(2900m)
Time required: 5 hours
In day four we will trek from Kagbeni to Chuksang of around five hours. You can come across some caves and Ghompa Kong on the west bank of the river. We will stop at the village of Tangbe where we will come across the first black, white and red chorten of upper Mustang. With the 2 hours walk beyond Tangbe, we will reach Chuksang village.
Day 5: Chuksang(2900m) to Samar(3150m)
Time required: 4 hours
From Chuksang we will trek about three and a half hours to reach Samar. You can see the difference in topography, culture, lifestyle and people with more scattered and smaller settlements. Continuing towards the north, we will reach a huge red chunk of conglomerate that has been fallen from the cliffs above, forming the tunnel where the river flows. We will be climbing the steep alley to the village of Chele. After Chele, we will descend on the beautiful trail to Samar. Samar is situated in a grove of the famous trees – major steeping place for horse and mule caravans.
Day 6: Samar (3150) to Geling(3510m)
Time required: 5 hours
Early in the morning, we will trek from Samar to Geling for about 5 hours. We will descend into a massive gorge past a chorten before entering another valley filled with juniper trees. Crossing the stream and climbing the pass we will descend to Shyangmochen - small settlements with few tea shops. With reaching nearby Rangbyung, we will enter another colossal valley descending to the Geling.
Day 7: Geling(3510m) to Ghami(3490m)
Time required: 5 hours
To reach Ghami, we will trek for about 5 hours. Climbing the trail through the fields, centre of the valley and above the settlements of Tama Gau, we will cross the head of the valley to Nyi La. From NyiLa we will route to Charang which left trails leads to Ghami.
Day 8: Ghami(3490m) to Tsarang(3620m)
Time required: 5 hours
We will walk through the driest part with dry soil of mustang. You can get the magnificent view of the countryside from the gentle contours of the north to rugged mountains in the east and west. After 5-hour trek, we will finally reach to Tsharang.
Day 9: Tsarang(3260m) to Lo- Manthang(3730m)
Time required: 3 hours
After exploring the beautiful village of T sharing and its large monastery, we will further head up to Lo Manthang. With the 3 hours there, we will climb gently above the valley to large isolated chorten which marks the boundary between Charang and Lo. With the broadening trail, we will eventually get our first view of Lo Manthang.
Day 10: Acclimatization day at Mustang
We will explore the beautiful city, of Lo Manthang. You can explore the town containing about the 150 houses as well as many lama residences, the four major temples, colossal clay statue of Buddha, the king palace and many more.
Day 11: Lo - man thang(3730m) to Ghami(3490m)
Time required: 6 hours
Retracing back from Lo- Manthang to Ghami, we will continue our journey on highland routes and alpine meadows. We will steep eroded alley to Dhakmar for lunch, and after lunch climbing a ridge, we will descend back to Ghami.
Day 12: Ghami(3490m) to Chuksang(2900m)
Time required: 6 hours
We will trek around six hours going through the wide and gentle path with some ascends and descends. Passing through the deserts like places, small thorny bushes along the river with small streams we will reach Ghami to Chuskang after crossing the Kali Gandaki river.
Day 13: Chuksang(2900m) to Muktinath(3710m)
Time required: 7 hours
We will ascend back to Muktinath passing through some agricultural fields, apple orchards and some human settlements. You can visit the monastery built in the 15th century, and enjoy beautiful deserted landscapes, Caves, old Tibetan style village and Apple garden.
Day 14: Muktinath(3710m) to Jomsom(2743m)
Time required: 5 hours
With the trek about 5 hours, we will head back to Jomsom, trail ascending to Eklebhati at Kali Gandaki river valley. We will walk for two hours along with wide sandy and windy valley in between two hills.
Day 15: Jomsom(2743m) to Pokhara (914m)
Time required: 25 to 30 minutes
We will fly back to Pokhara, which will take about 25 minutes.
Day 16: Pokhara to Kathmandu
We will drive back to Kathmandu from pokhara passing through damauli, dumre, muglin, and kurintar. You can also visit Manakamana temple and try out Nepal’s first operated cable car.
Day 17: Day at leisure:
Overnight at hotel in Kathmandu and ready to go back
Day 18: Fly back to Destination.
