Overview
Chitwan National Park is one of the naturally diverse regions of Nepal which is also the first national park in Nepal. Chitwan is a natural area in Terai which is the subtropical southern part of Nepal. It is located at 165 km far from Kathmandu. Chitwan is known for the dense forest and exotic animals like leopard, Bengal tiger, one-horned rhino, gharials and many more. Since the forest was densely populated by a leopard which is known as “Chitwa” in Nepali, the region is known as Chitwan which basically means “forest of the leopard”.
Chitwan National Park is one of the World Heritage sites in Nepal. It covers an area of 952.63 km in subtropical inner Terai lowlands of Nepal in the districts of Chitwan, Parsa, Nawalpur and Makwanpur. It has a tropical monsoon climate with high humidity all through the year. It is located in the central climatic zone of the Himalayas making rain in June and cease off in late September. Chitwan National Park is home to the 68 species of mammals, 344 species of birds,126 species of fish, 56 species of reptiles and amphibians. It is renowned for rare animals like one-horned rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger, and fish-eating gharials.

Itinerary
Day 1: Drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan
We will drive from Kathmandu to Chitwan by tourist bus. After arriving at Sauraha bus stand, our staff will receive you from the bus station. Then, you’ll be accompanied by our representative to the hotel. On arriving hotel, a welcome drink will be in the house. Then, our representative will brief you on accommodation and the facilities that are provided.
After having lunch, we will have a short tour of nearby ethnic Tharu village where you’ll learn the culture of Tharus. Primarily inhabited by Tharu, they are renowned for beautiful art and drawing. A professional guide will accompany you throughout the whole time to help you understand the lifestyle in the area.
Night 1: Detail Slideshow on flora and fauna of Chitwan National Park
After having dinner from the local hotel, you’ll be presented a slide show on the detail information on the Chitwan National Park. We will give you necessary guidelines for coming safari with the exclusive information on natural flora and fauna of the national park.
Day 2: Exploring Chitwan National Park
Our representative will give you wake up call in the morning. After having breakfast, we will go on a canoe trip in the Rapti river. In the Canoe trip, you can view some of the rare species of crocodile - Marsh Mugger and fish-eating Gharial. After finishing the canoe trip, you can accompany exciting elephant swimming and bath. At the evening, we will have a beautiful sunset view from the bank of the Rapti river.
After having lunch, we will accompany you to the Elephant safari. During Elephant safari, you will have an excellent opportunity to observe some of the exotic animals of the world like a one-horned rhino, royal Bengal tiger, leopard, deer and many more. You will also encounter many other animals
Night 2:
After having dinner, the local village will present you with a cultural program. You can enjoy the traditional Tharu stick dance and it is highly encouraged to participate in dance.
Day 3:
Our staff will give you a wake-up call in the morning. After having breakfast, we will visit the Government Elephant Breeding Center which is one of the only two elephant- breeding center in the world. In the Elephant Breeding Center, you will have the opportunity to have an up-close view of adult elephants and their calves.
After having lunch, we will go for bird watching. Chitwan National park is home to a number of rare species of the birds making it an excellent place for bird watching. Our veteran guide will accompany you to observe some of the rarest bird in the world. After bird watching, our staff member will help you to manage for the departure.
With this, we will come to the end of the safari.
