Overview
Bardia National Park is the protected area of Nepal which cover 968 sq km in the Terai region. It is one of the largest national parks in Nepal which is about 560 kilometer away from Kathmandu. It is adjoined with the eastern bank of the Karnali River and bisected by the Babai river in the Bardiya district. The northern limit of the Bardia National park is separated by the crest of the Siwalik Hills. The area of Bardia National Park is mostly covered with forest. With the mixture of grassland savannah and riverine forest, the park comprises rare species of flora and fauna.
A wide variety of animals live around the grasslands such as Baghora and Lamkoikli making it one of the best places for a wildlife safari. The park protects endangered animals like royal Bengal tiger, one-horned rhinoceros, barasingha or swamp dear and many more. Besides this, the park is home to the exotic animals like one of the largest antelope species – the nilgai or blue bull. The river of Bardia National Park is populated by rare fish eating gharial, Marsh mugger, and Gangetic Dolphins. More than 350 species of birds have been found in Bardia National Park making it bird watcher’s paradise.

Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive at Bardia National Park
You will take an early morning flight from Kathmandu to Nepalgunj. Our staff member will receive you from the airport. Then, our representative will accompany you to drive from Nepalgunj to Bardia National Park by private car. After arriving, you will be transferred to our lodge where you will be offered welcome drinks on the house.
After getting settled, we will give you the program detail of the safari. After getting your program detail, you can have lunch. For the first day, we will take a village tour to a nearby ethnic village. You’ll be accompanied by a professional guide who will help you to understand the culture and lifestyle of the local people. At night, local people will present you with some cultural program with the colorful dance.
Day 2: Explore Bardia National Park
Our staff member will give you wake up call in the early morning. In this day, you will enjoy a full day of wildlife safari. After breakfast, we will go for an Elephant ride. You can have an excellent view of the exotic animals in the grassland savannah. You can also join on exciting elephant bathing and swimming.
After having lunch, we will visit the crocodile breeding center and Tharu Cultural Museum. There are also viewing tower in the jungle to capture the photograph of the wild animals in their wild habitat. Our experienced guide will use their local knowledge to get you the best location to observe those exotic animals.
Day 3: Enjoy Bardia National Park
After having breakfast, we will go on a jeep safari. This is the fastest way to explore the park. We will drive deep into the jungle. In the core of the jungle, there are some of the best viewing towers. Our professional guide will lead you to the best location to observe some of the best solitary wild animals like the Royal Bengal tiger.
After having lunch we will drive to the Karnali River. The Karnali River is the longest river of Nepal with several tributaries. At the Karnali river, there is one of the exhilarating rafting and kayaking trips. If you are looking adventurous and thrilling ride, then you can try rafting or kayaking on the Karnali river. Drifting down the river, you can also observe some of the endangered freshwater animals like Gangetic dolphin, gharial crocodile and exotic birds like Sarus Crane, Bar-headed goose, long-tailed broad bill, Red-billed Blue Magpie and many more.
Day 4: Drive to Nepalgunj and fly back to Kathmandu
Early morning we will go for a bird watching. Bardia National park is the home to the 350 species of birds making it an excellent place for bird watching. We will explore community forest, river habitat, and other open water areas to see the varieties of birds. After lunch, today we will drive you to Nepalgunj in the private car. From Nepalgunj, we will assist you in departure to the Kathmandu. After reaching Kathmandu, you can settle down on your hotel.
