Itinerary
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu
Upon arriving in Kathmandu, our representative staff will pick you from Tribhuvan International Airport. After getting acquainted with the hotel room, we will discuss the detail of the trip plan and work on it. At night, you can visit some of the colorful nightclubs of Kathmandu. And you can stay overnight in a hotel.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu valley
Our staff member will give you wake up call in the morning. In the second day, we will take you to some of the famous cultural and historical sight of the Kathmandu. Some of the sites are also considered as World Heritage site. We will cover places such as Kathmandu Durbar Square, Pashupatinath, Swoyambhunath, Bouddhanath and many more. Our professional guide will accompany you to give detail information on historical facts and stories on all of the places. Stay overnight in the hotel.
Day 03: Kathmandu to Syabru Besi
On the following day, our staff will give you wake up call in the morning. After having breakfast, we will set out drive to Syabru Besi. It will take about 7 hours to reach Syabru Besi from Trishuli. Along the way, you will view some of beautiful forest and rivers. After reaching Syabru Besi, we will discuss the orientation of the trek and stay overnight in lodge.
Day 04: Syabru Besi to Thulo Syabru
We will have our breakfast in the early morning. After having breakfast we will start our hike from Syabru Besi. We will continue to trek until we reach Thulo Syabru. Along the trail, we will cross through rivers and hills. Mostly populated by the Tamang people, you will have a good opportunity to know their culture and values. We will stay overnight in a lodge.
Day 05: Trek to Chhlong Phedi
On the following day, we will trek from Thulo Syabru to Chhlong Phedi. At Chhlong Phedi, we will plan our trek to Gosainkunda Lake. We will stay overnight in Chhlong Phedi.
Day 06: Trek to Gosainkunda Lake
Today we will leave Chhlong Phedi and head toward Goasinkunda lake. Gosainkunda is the sacred place of Hindu religion. Each year, several pilgrimages travel to Gosainkunda lake to take a holy bath on the lake. Gosainkunda is shrouded with lots of mythical stories. Located at the altitude of 4380 meters in Rasuwa district, the lake is about four sq miles in size. We will stay overnight at Lakeside in a tent camp.
Day 07: Explore Gosainkunda Area
Today we will explore the Gosainkunda area. the high altitude of Gosainkunda will give some of best sight of the mountains like Ganesh Himal, Annapurna, Langtang, and Dhaulagiri. Beside Gosainkunda lake, there is dozen of the lake to explore. We will also visit three water tap which is said to be formed when God Shiva plunged his trident (Trishul) in the ground in order to obtain water. We stay overnight in Gosainkunda.
Day 08: Gosainkunda to Ghopte
On the following day, we will leave Gosainkunda and pass through Laurebina Pass. We will follow a rugged trail to reach Ghopte. Along the path, we will pass beautiful streams and waterfalls. After a couple of hours moving downward we will reach Ghopta. Stay overnight in lodge.
Day 09: Trek to Melamchi Gaon
We will continue our trek from Ghopte to Melamchi Gaon. Majority of people in the Melamchi Gaon is Tamang people so you can interact with them to understand their culture and tradition. As we ascend, we can see a beautiful mountain range.
Day 10: Melamchi Gaun to Tarkeghyang
On the following day, we will continue our trek toward Dhukpu Kharka. From Dhukpu Kharka, we will move toward Sherpa village called Tarkeghyang. Stay overnight in homestay.
Day 11: Trek to Shermathang
On this day, we will take an easy stroll toward Shermathang. We will pass through a wide valley, streams, and forest. We can visit the Buddhist monastery in Shermathang. We will stay overnight in homestay.
Day 12: Shermathang to Melamchi Pul Bazar
At the early morning, we will leave Shermathang and head toward Melamchi Bazaar. While trekking, we will pass Naya Kang Glacier, alpine forests and amazing Buddhist monasteries. Arriving at Melamchi Bazaar Pool we will take rest for overnight in Lodge.
Day 13: Rest at Melamchi Pul Bazar
On this day, we will take rest at the Melamchi Pul Bazaar. Populated by Sherpa people, they make a good company to learn about their culture and lifestyle. We will take a brisk walk at the beautiful meadows. Stay overnight at lodge.
Day 14: Drive back to Kathmandu
Today we will end our trek. We will take a scenic drive from Melamchi Pul Bazaar to Kathmandu. You will witness some of the gorgeous terrace field and dense forest. After getting Kathmandu, you can relax in the hotel.
Day 15: Departure
On this day we will help you to check out of the hotel. Our representative staff will drive you to the airport from where you will depart from us.
With this, we will come to the end of 15 days Tamang Heritage Helambu trek.
